Radu Popovici
Radu Popovici is a Software Engineer in Silicon Valley, as well as a Commercial Pilot and Flight Instructor with ratings in airplanes (single and multi engine land) and helicopters. After obtaining a Bachelor and Masters degree in Computer Science, the Bay Area became his new home. He has been flying since 2007 and has received his commercial and instructor certificates for both airplanes (single and multi engine) and helicopters.
He has accumulated over 1000 hours instructing students. Currently, Radu instructs in helicopters at Sirius Flying, and in airplanes at West Valley Flying Club and Sundance Flying Club, located at Palo Alto and San Carlos airports.
As a pilot, he has flown most major primary trainers, as well as more demanding airplanes: Cessna 152, 172, 172RG, 182, 206; Piper PA28-150 (Cherokee), PA28-161 (Warrior), PA28-181 (Archer), PA28-201 (Arrow), PA44 (Seminole), PA24 (Twin Comanche), PA34 (Seneca); Beechcraft BE76 (Duchess); Bellanca Citabria 7ECA, 7KCAB. He also has flown and is endorsed for helicopters, specifically Robinson R22 and R44.
